- Discipline yourself, buy a diet plan and
enjoy the progress you make. There are numerous books
available from your library, from your local bookstore
and on the internet to choose from which meet the needs
and tastes of just about everyone.
- Visit your GP if you consider your health
is already suffering from being far from your ideal
weight.
- Join or form a slimming club or support
group. Details of locally available classes are in for
example Yellow Pages, Thomsons Local, your local library
and through entering your chosen keywords for an internet
search.
- Take regular exercise. Check with your GP
first if you are considerably overweight or have any
known or suspected health problems before choosing the
best form of exercise for you. Decide whether you choose
to exercise alone or join a sports and leisure centre for
company.

eating disorders is often used though particularly for people who
are overweight their problem may be due to an over effective
"survival" strategy. The illness labels are anorexia,
bulimia, obesity. Remember the good thing is that labels can be
easily changed when they no longer apply. Some people insist on
