As a client you know you have a problem to overcome, a challenge to meet, or an aim in mind for which you seek motivation. When you decide to make an appointment you have made a decision to achieve the change you seek. The more determined you are to succeed the more easily you will make the changes you want. In hypnotic trance you will only make those changes with which you will feel truly OK. Remember that in a trance you are in charge. Top of page

Choosing a private hypnotherapy practice
Particularly when seeking therapy services you need to consider whether or not the service is available through the NHS, how long will you wait and what can be provided. Choosing a private practice enables you to deal with your issues sooner rather than later and offers to you a greater level of flexibility, evening and weekend appointments outside of your normal working hours. This enables you to keep confidential and private your appointments from your employer. We offer longer sessions to enable to meet your needs, many issues being dealt with within one session, always aiming to minimise the number of visits you need to make. We always charge and this charge will be much less than the value to you in overcoming the issue you bring to us! Your GP may find you services through the NHS which are free to NHS patients. There are charities which may offer free advice or counselling, however some will means test your ability to pay. Remember counselling may take a long time over many sessions and you may end up thinking even more about what troubles you.
Consider the value to you of overcoming your problem or meeting challenges through greater confidence and motivation. How does your problem impact on your daily life? Does your issue impact on the lives of others in your family, community or work? How will you feel having overcome your problem? What will you gain? What will you lose? When you have a problem do you spoil yourself more often, take a holiday, buy a new TV or three piece suite? Often a new settee only offers you somewhere more comfortable to stay for longer thinking about your problem. A holiday can be a great distraction from a problem while are a long way from home so think whether or not you get a sinking feeling when you return to your normal daily life. Investing in therapy or coaching with change.TOGAIN can be the long term solution to feeling better!
Valuing yourself and the changes you will make in therapy or coaching, valuing the work of your service provider. Top of page
Going into trance is a normal activity- you do this many times a day! Have you ever found yourself daydreaming at work and jumped to attention when the boss tapped you on the shoulder? Have you ever driven down a motorway, listening to your radio, chatting to your passenger, thinking about reaching your destination and suddenly realised you are well past your exit? This is the driving trance! A child flicking through the remote control for channels on TV who does not respond to your call is in a trance! Anyone who is prepared to follow the instructions of our therapists will go comfortably into trance! Top of page
I am worried about losing control
In trance you are the one who is in charge. Your unconscious (subconscious mind) will protect you! You will only accept those suggestions with which you are comfortable. If you were told to go out and rob a bank your unconscious mind will throw this out! ( unless of course you are a bank robber!) Your therapist is your guide who will show you the way to make the changes you want- you make the changes! Top of page
Our techniques involve you thinking. We ask you to follow our instructions and if you do this you will be enabled to make the changes you want. Look upon your therapist or coach as your well trained and knowledgeable guide. Imagine for a moment that you have decided that next weekend you are going to climb Everest! I reckon that before you do you will decide to visit an outdoors supplier to kit you out in the best of equipment. You will then visit a tour operator to book your flights and accommodation at base camp on Everest. A Sherpa guide will be part of the package. Imagine now you are on the summit of Everest with your smart clothing and equipment and shaking hands with the Sherpa guide! Who got you to the summit? YOU DID. The tour operator and equipment supplier made this possible and the SHERPA showed you the way! Follow the instructions of your therapist or coach to make the changes you need. Like the guys who got you to the top of Everest, they are well trained and know the way. If you want to know more about NLP and hypnotherapy check out the relevent pages. Top of page
